Ecclesiastes 7

"Better to go to the house of mourning
Than to go to the house of feasting,
For that is the end of all men;
And the living will take it to heart." v.2

Read chapter 7
A funeral is better than a wedding is what this verse seems to be saying here.  Seems kind of strange thought as most would consider happiness better than crying.  But lets consider what typically happens at both these events.  At a wedding the focus is on the bride and groom; two have become one.  There's dancing, laughter, alcohol, wishing of blessings on their future new life together, etc.  At a funeral there's crying, mourning, sadness, anger, quiet, awkward (not sure what to say), etc.  The number one thing that happens most at funerals questioning God.  Is there a God?  Is He fair? Mean? Unloving?  What happens now once their dead?  Are they in heaven?  Will I get to see him or her again?
Seeking comfort and answers is what's on their heart and mind.  So is this the key to why to go to a funeral  is better?  To consider and think about God more?  To talk to Him?  To share His promise of hope after death with others?
How can you make the house of mourning a ministry?  It's hard to find words but find God's words (scripture) to do the talking.
