So he said, “You have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and you have gone away. Now what more do I have? How can you say to me, ‘What ails you?’” v.24
Read chapter 18
A spin on Micah. In the chapter before he seemed to be doing what he thought was right and thought God was blessing him for his works, but not so any more. The tribe of Dan comes to the house of Micah, notices his idols, images, and his priest and take them for themselves. Now in both parties they covet these ungodly things and seem to find their worth in them. The Danites take them for their land they had just conquered to use those in worship and Micah says he has nothing left now that they've taken his gods. Both Micah and the Danites were putting their trust in manmade gods. Yet God is not an image one can build or form so that He dwells among His people. True then as well as today of 1 Timothy 6:7, "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."
If you lost all your possessions, would you feel like you lost your God too? Would you feel like you lost your worth? Praise the Lord nothing can separate us from the love of Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39)!
