Look, here is my virgin daughter and the man’s concubine; let me bring them out now. Humble them, and do with them as you please; but to this man do not do such a vile thing!” v.24
Read chapter 19
This is probably the chapter I hate the most in the Bible. Strong statement, but after you read this chapter you'll understand why. Sin to the max and how disgusting it is. Men wanting to rape other men. Fathers giving their daughters to be abused. Men sexually abusing women. Yuck. You wonder why did God let this happen and it's because He gives us free will. Unfortunately that free will is abused and used for evil as the sin nature so easily takes over. Not only did these men of the city sin, but the old man and the husband do too as they were selfish and esteemed rights and dignity of women so low. Did they think they were choosing the lesser of two evils? Did they think they were allowing a different sin to make right? Neither of these possibilities is justification for their choice, yet how often do we think these are our only options in a hard situation to either choose the "lesser evil" or think sin will fix another sin?
