Psalm 61

"From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." v.2

Read chapter 61
There is a mint of meaning in this brief prayer. Along the iron bound coast of our northern shores, lives are lost because the rocks are inaccessible to the shipwrecked mariner. A clergyman of one of the coast villages has with immense labour cut steps up from the beach to a large chamber, which he has excavated in the chalk cliffs; here many mariners have been saved; they have climbed the rock, which had else been too high for them, and they have escaped.
Oh this is the prayer of my daily life.  I hate that I get overwhelmed so easily and seems like on such a regular basis.  A lot of it stems from my overambitious self that takes on too much and then when something isn't going how I thought or planned I'm overwhelmed, stressed and cry.  I'm drowning. I am so thankful The Rock, Our Lord, is higher than ourselves and that's what I want to be led to.  He is our salvation and He will also draw us to Himself.  Ask to be led and He will lead!  Run into that shelter and then trust.
