1 Corinthians 7

Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. v.5

Read chapter 7
So many think the Bible teaches sex is bad.  It's not bad but a beautiful thing when used how it was created to be used- within marriage.  Paul here is encouraging sex!  Encouraging sex with their spouse.  He speaks of it as the glue to keep them as one and a tool to keep Satan out of their marriage.  When husbands and wives are apart for whatever reason they are to be aware of one another's physical and spiritual needs and desires.  They shouldn't deprive the other that could lead to sin in their marriage but equal consent for a time of this separation.  "Sexual love is a beautiful tool to build with, not a weapon to fight with. To refuse each other is to commit robbery (1 Thess. 4:6) and to invite Satan to tempt the partners to seek their satisfaction elsewhere." (Wiersbe, Warren W.. Be Wise).
So Paul is encouraging sex with your spouse.  What a beautiful and glorious thing.  What causes you to deprive your spouse or them you?  If you're single, how can you control your sexual desires?
