2 Peter 3

"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."  v.8-9

Read chapter 3
1,000 years as one day is quoted by people a lot in trying to grasps God's time.  Distinctions of long and short time are nothing in the sight of God; delay is a purely human conception. In one moment, he could do the work of a thousand years.  Although these scoffers are willingly ignorant of what refutes their error (verse 5), we should not be ignorant (or forget) of what will lead you to the truth.
God desires ALL to be with Him; that ALL should come to repentance.  This shows that there's no predestination when it comes to salvation if God's desire is that all come to Him.  And this because of the free will He gives man to choose Him.  Yes we do see the word predestination used in scripture but never in accordance to salvation (usually to carry out a task of the Lord's).
So how can you be diligent to be found by Him in peace without spot and blameless as we wait for God(v.14)?
