Proverbs 20

It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
Since any fool can start a quarrel. v.3

Read chapter 20
In our culture today it seems honorable in the eyes of many men to fight, but in the eyes not only of God but other men it is more honorable, shows more self discipline and great wisdom to stop or not prevent the quarrel.  Anyone can start a quarrel so easily by pushing someone's buttons.  It's like the person who always needs drama in their lives or they're bored, they pick fights just to pick fights.  One version translates it: "Whoever is a fool showeth his teeth."  He's trying to entice the fight.
Who's that person in your life that always seems to start fights or arguments? They become that person that no one wants to invite so that it can be a pleasant time.  When those arguments do happen do you help break it up?  Or if you're the one involved, do you fight till you've won or are you able to control your pride and stop the striving?
