“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man..." vv.24-26

Have you ever noticed that the storms come to both men? The one who built his house on the Rock and the one who didn't. Yes the one who doesn't have the firm foundation of Christ will not stand but the house on Christ is still going to be hit by storms. So when someone becomes a believer of Jesus, life doesn't just all of the sudden become perfect. We're still hit by the ways of this world that hurt and scare us like a thunderstorm to a little child, but with Christ we will not fall!
