Isaiah 35

"A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
But it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray." v. 8

Read chapter 35
A highway is a public road for major or other public tracks clearly marked.  A highway is a straight shot and not regularly lefts and rights, stops and yields, a distinction from common paths.  Highways usually have higher speed limits too.  The highway here is called the Highway to Holiness.  It's referred as a way the exiles returned to the land but also how pilgrims of all nations will journey to Jerusalem in the future kingdom, the mountain of the Lord (Is. 2:1).
The second part of this verse is a little difficult to understand.  Why is there unclean or fools in this future time? Or perhaps showing that there will be no unholy person in the kingdom.  Those that are not God's will not be able to take the highway. Whether according to this life or the one to come we know that walking with and on God's path we shall not go astray no matter how foolish we may seem to today's world.
What kind of road are you on in your life?  Are you taking the common path or highway?
