Isaiah 48

“You have heard;
See all this.
And will you not declare it?
I have made you hear new things from this time,
Even hidden things, and you did not know them.
7 They are created now and not from the beginning;
And before this day you have not heard them,
Lest you should say, ‘Of course I knew them.’
8 Surely you did not hear,
Surely you did not know;
Surely from long ago your ear was not opened.
For I knew that you would deal very treacherously,
And were called a transgressor from the womb." vv.6-8

Israel was God's chosen people yet even they are sinners and rebuked by God.  God treated them as the "favorite child" declaring hidden things to them and blessing them with unending blessings.  Yet they took that for granted and realize the treasures in God they were given.  It wasn't just a season, but over much time and many generations of disobeying God and not listening or understanding the way of the Lord and His many blessings and promises.  Even before they were born, sin was at work in them and God knew that would be innate in them and all mankind.  How have you been the favorite in someone's eyes and taken it for granted?  Do you understand the "new things" of how God is dealing with man today?
