Isaiah 42

"Thus says God the Lord,
Who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it,
Who gives breath to the people on it,
And spirit to those who walk on it...am the Lord, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another," vv.5,8

Read chapter 42
This is a sneak peak verse of showing God as the Creator and also as Jesus.
  • God created "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1
  • Jesus created "All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made." John 1:3
  • Here in Isaiah 42 we see Jehovah created.
  • Therefore, God = Jesus = Jehovah (all caps LORD is Jehovah in the Hebrew)
This also shows that Jesus is the Jehovah of the Old Testament if we compare verse eight with Philippians 2:9-1, "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."  If God doesn't give His glory to another but we see also that Jesus Christ is the glory of God the Father, then for both statements to be true Jesus must be Jehovah.  Why do you think Jehovah Witnesses think they're two different gods?
