Isaiah 41

"Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’" v.10

Read chapter 41
What higher consolation can man desire than the assurance that someone is there to protect them?  And really not just anyone, but God!  "If God be for us who can be against us" (Romans 8:31).  This is addressed primarily to the exiled Jews during their long and painful captivity in Babylon; and the idea is, that they who had been selected by God to be his special people had nothing to fear.  It is as true now as it was then, that those that are God's people have nothing to fear.  To not be dismayed means to not be anxious and look to another.   Depend on God's love.  To what the world seems like "give up and try another" attitude we are to trust in God's faithfulness, which is His righteous right hand.  We also know Christ is at the "right hand" or "rights" of God.  The Son is who upholds us, the expressive of His sustenance, in Him was preservation of Israel for the Messiah to come and the preservation of His Word and believers still today. Are you consoled in your bodyguard?  When have you been dismayed?  How has Christ upheld you?
